Welcome Team Cardinal!

This is a real wiki that I've created for my students. As the year rolls on, we will be using it in many exciting ways. For example, I am going to have all of you create encyclopedia pages on whatever unit we happen to be studying. Your colleagues will have the opportunity to edit these entries for content, grammar and spelling. The goal is to get each entry to the point that we will be able to use them as another source for study. The great thing is, since you will be researching and creating the content, you in essence will also be creating the information on which you will be tested. (With some gentle prodding by me ;-) )

My plans are also for each student to create his or her own page and to use it to post their work for critique.

We will have a training session in class, hopefully, by Friday Sept. 4th.

Important Things to Know About This Wiki:

  • This wiki is semi-public, meaning that the general public can read, but not edit, any entry. Therefore, do not put anything on this wiki that you would not be comfortable with the general public seeing.

  • Anyone to whom I've given access can edit any entry on this wiki -- in other words, any of the dozens of my students, along with Mrs. Kirk, the other Team Cardinal teachers and I. However, the "History" section of each page not only shows who has edited which entry, but allows earlier versions to be restored. Furthermore, I receive an e-mail each time any page is edited. Any malicious editing, therefore, is not in your best interest as it will be quickly discovered, with immediate consequences.

  • This wiki is not hosted through Westerville City Schools' servers. It may be available at times when WCS services are down; the opposite may also occur. In any endeavor, if you plan for technology to fail at inconvenient times, and you will always be ahead of the game.
